800 Series

The 800 Series is a new collection I’ve been imagining for over a year—created as a more accessible, everyday counterpart to my classic work, without sacrificing intention or design integrity.

The name refers directly to the finish. While my core collection is polished to 7000 grit, giving the wood a high sheen and tightly sealed surface, often mistaken for stone, the 800 Series is polished to 800 grit. This produces a matte finish that highlights the natural texture of the wood while reducing labor time and overall cost. For those familiar with my work, this is the same finish I’ve always used on my key chains.

Because the wood’s pores are more open at this grit, the surface is slightly less water resistant. I recommend oiling these pieces a bit more frequently than the classic 7k collection to keep the wood conditioned over time.

This collection also marks my first use of niobium. Niobium is hypoallergenic and commonly used in piercings and medical procedures, making it an excellent option for those with sensitivities to silver or gold. It also allows me to offer this collection at a more accessible price point amid rising precious metal costs.

The 800 Series currently includes earrings, with necklace designs in development.
